Healing wounds, building capacity, changing lives

Medical, surgical, and educational support for individuals suffering from acute and chronic wounds in underserved communities worldwide.

We believe the most powerful way to improve outcomes is not just to treat wounds — but to teach others how to heal them long after we leave.

What drives us

I

Direct Care

Hands-on wound care and surgical treatment in communities with limited access

II

Education

Training local clinicians and caregivers with practical, sustainable techniques

III

Partnership

Building lasting relationships — not dependency — with healthcare systems abroad

IV

Sustainability

Working with locally available resources so care continues independently

What we do

Clinical & Surgical Care

  • Advanced wound assessment and management
  • Limb salvage interventions
  • Surgical procedures when appropriate
  • Complex case consultation

Education & Training

  • Bedside teaching during active care
  • Structured lectures and workshops
  • Evidence-based wound care demonstrations
  • Training in sustainable, low-cost practices
  • Expert ostomy and fistula support and training

A world where no patient suffers from preventable or untreated wounds due to lack of access, training, or resources.

This is our vision. Every mission, every partnership, every training session brings us closer.

Where we work

Aruba — 2026 & 2027

Our inaugural missions will take place in Aruba, partnering with local hospitals to support the development of a growing wound care program. Teams will provide surgical and clinical care alongside hands-on clinician education.

Tanzania — 2027

WMI is planning a 2027 mission in Tanzania, partnering with local clinicians to expand access to wound care in a region with significant need. Teams will provide clinical support alongside hands-on education and training for sustainable care.
